FAQ

Questions people actually ask

If your question is not here, call us. We would rather answer it now than have you find out something inconvenient on move-in day.

Access and hours

What are the gate hours?

The gate is open seven days a week, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. You get your own access code when you rent.

Is there 24-hour access?

No. Access runs 7:00 am to 9:00 pm every day, including weekends. If you need to get in outside those hours, call the office and we will see what we can arrange.

When is the office open?

The office is open by appointment, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. It is closed Sunday. Because it is by appointment, call ahead on (719) 371-8011 rather than dropping in.

Where exactly is the entrance?

The address is 3345 E. Highway 50, but the entry gate is on Four Mile Lane, north of First Light. Turn at the Four Mile Lane signal on Highway 50 — Home Depot is on the corner.

Units and pricing

What sizes do you have?

Eight sizes: 5x10, 10x10, 10x15, 10x20, 10x25, 10x30 and 10x40 enclosed units, plus 12x30 outdoor gravel spaces for RVs, boats and trailers.

How much does a unit cost?

Rates depend on size and current availability, and we often have move-in specials. Call (719) 371-8011 or send a request through the website and we will confirm today’s pricing.

Do you have climate controlled units?

Our units are steel built on concrete slabs with roll-up doors. If climate control matters for what you are storing, call us and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Can I drive up to my unit?

Yes. Every enclosed unit is drive-up — you can bring a vehicle or trailer right to the door. There are no stairs, lifts or interior corridors.

Can I change to a different size later?

Yes, subject to availability. Rentals are month to month and we have eight sizes on one property, so moving up or down is usually straightforward. Call the office to arrange it.

Renting and paying

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Rentals are month to month. Store for a season or for years.

How do I pay once I am renting?

Existing customers make payments through U-Haul’s payment system, linked from this site. If you would rather pay another way, call the office.

Is there a fee to reserve?

Not through this website. Sending a request costs nothing and nothing is charged until you sign a rental agreement.

Do I need a lock, insurance or a deposit?

Requirements can change, so we would rather tell you exactly than have you find out at signing. Call (719) 371-8011 and we will walk you through what you need before you come in.

RV, boat and vehicle storage

Can I store an RV, boat or trailer?

Yes. We have 12x30 outdoor uncovered gravel spaces suited to RVs, travel trailers, boats on trailers and utility trailers.

Are RV spaces covered?

No, the RV and boat spaces are outdoor uncovered gravel. Our largest enclosed unit is a 10x40 if you need something under a roof.

What if my rig is longer than 30 feet?

Call before you reserve. Spaces are 12 by 30 feet, and we will tell you plainly whether your rig will fit rather than have you tow it out here to find out.

What you can store

What am I not allowed to store?

The standard prohibitions apply across self storage: no fuel, propane, paint, fireworks or other flammables and hazardous materials, nothing perishable, no living things, and nothing illegal. Drain fuel from mowers and equipment before they go in. If you are unsure about a specific item, ask us.

Can I live or work in a unit?

No. Storage units cannot be used as living space or as a workshop. You are welcome to collect from and drop off at your unit as often as you like during gate hours.

Ready to reserve a unit?

Tell us the size you need and when you want to move in. We will confirm availability and current pricing.
